From the outset of the project, L.E.B has made its CSR policy a priority, taking into account its environmental and social impact throughout the operating chain. To ensure that its CSR policy meets the highest international standards, L.E.B relies on two leading partners in the field NORDA STELO and GROUPE EFORT.
Socially, the project will generate around 250 direct, permanent jobs, not forgetting indirect and temporary employment for local national workers and around 100 jobs for expatriate workers. The identified potential positive impact generated by the project on socio-economic and cultural aspects is beneficial.
The mining experience shows that mines create numerous small businesses on their sites. These small businesses in turn create jobs. All in all, the indirect jobs created by the mines can multiply by four (4) the number of jobs initially planned. We therefore estimate that the project could create around 1,000 direct and indirect jobs.
